Diamondback is Nathan Francis" sophomore album and the first to feature his own original compositions. This project brings together some of the biggest names in Finnish Jazz music and demonstrates Francis" prowess as both a bassist and composer. "The album was really created continuously over the past two years. All of these compositions came to me at different places and times and the musical character of the pieces reflects the distinctness of their inspiration.” writes Francis. The bassist is joined by longtime collaborator Aleksi Heinola at the drums who also contributes the mysterious tune ‘Playa De Las Canteras’ to this musical melting pot. “Part of the magic in this album for me is the personnel.
