A journey that has been an inspiration to many artists, in many discographies . Thus, when in 2010, la Maison Tellier issues L'Art de la Fugue , a third album sounding like an ode to travel and wandering , one could already hear the wind blowing in the dusty plains and the train whistling in the distance. Clichés ? Yes, undoubtedly, but the saying has it that in every stereotype there is some truth. Thus, even in the caricature of America there was a bit of real, authentic America. We were also reminded of their earlier works (La Maison Tellier and Second Souffle, both recorded almost in a row between 2006 and 2007) which had managed to reunite fans of Neil Young, Calexico, Moriarty and lovers of elegant french rock (think Dominique A and Alain Bashung rather than ... Noir Désir). And then there was also the now famous cover of Killing In The Name (Rage Against The Machine), a nagging southern blues version that removed all the ecstatic hysteria from the original and placed it in a much more relevant geographical and historical context.
