'Dry Water Wet Land' ist das Debüt des detroiter Underground Rappers Dirtee Curt. Produziert von Dakim und Ahkatari ist das Album soundtechnisch vom HipHop der 1990er Jahre inspiriert und inhaltlich sehr persönlich ausgefallen.
From the moment you hear 'Dry Water Wet Land', you’ll know that Dirtee Curt has experienced a lot and been on quite a journey. A few journeys, actually. In discussing the album, he says, “It took forever and a day but it’s been a learning experience more than anything”, adding “I’m telling my life story... without telling it”.The appropriately titled album intro, 'Opening Act', is a listener’s smorgasbord of events, surrounded by people asking him various questions and in some cases, asking for favours. Throughout the process, Curt remains mostly
unfazed. This especially rings true on 'Daily Grind', where he states on the opening bars “Dirt Curt in the building, far from makin’ a million/But makin’ it do with the little that I got”. At that point, you can just put your seatbelt on and zone out. - Tracklist
