'They Live' is the second album from Brighton based breakbeat duo Tom Beaufoy and Pat Pardy AKA Evil Nine. Taking inspiration from their love of horror flicks, zombie movies in particular, the album features the duo's trademark stomping electro beats and bass mixed with droning guitars and 80's horror synths and samples. Guest vocals come from the likes of David Autokratz, El-P and Toastie Taylor. They are Evil Nine, who are back from the dead with the release of their much-anticipated new album, They Live!, Evil Nine have always been one step ahead of the game, what amazes me now is they're still ahead, even when they're being 'retro'. You Can Be Special Too was a tough act to follow, but the Evils have done it, stylishly, unpredictably and with their unique panache.
