A highly respected DJ, promoter and producer - Ryota is a lynchpin of Tokyo's burgeoning disco / house scene, his contemporaries include Cos/Mes, Kuniyuki, and KZA among others who mix eastern mysticism, jazz spirituality, rare cosmic disco and deeply musical / intricate house. From the haunted discoid-stomp of 'Zombie Boogie' to the sparse, clipped jazz-inflected funk of 'Rain Jazz', to the caustic, spiralling pads and moody stabs of 'Sweet Claim' and beyond, it's clear that this is utterly unique dance music with an intriguing balance of flavours at play - 'Spirit house'? 'dark balearica'? 'mystic house'? we'll leave it to your imagination.
