Tummy Touch mit einem Beinahe-Klassiker des Jazz. Samuel Purdey's 1999 album "Musically Adrift" was exactly that. Right record, wrong time; a little known classic released only in Japan but nevertheless a timeless body of work. Known for their muscular groove oriented jazz/funk style, these UK players emulated a more Blue Eyed Soul and soft rock approach that aligned with their influences; Steely Dan, Earth Wind & Fire, Hall & Oates, and Tower Of Power. Mixed by multi-grammy winner Elliot Scheiner and Bob Power (A Tribe Called Quest/De La Soul), the pedigree of this cult gem is further validated by the extensive use of well regarded session musicians; 70s session guitarist Elliott Randall, Robbie Gordon (Gil Scott Heron), Frank Floyd (known for his vocal work on Steely Dan's Gaucho and Fagen's Nightcrawler), as well as original Jamiroquai bassist Stuart Zender, and Jan Kincaid and Andrew Levy of the The Brand New Heavies.
